NOLLYWOOD STAR OFFERS INSIGHT INTO ACTING

LAGOS. —Nollywood actress Toyin Alausa, has spoken on what it takes to be a good actor and succeed in the Nigerian film industry.

The award-winning actress posted on her Instagram page on Monday saying that acting goes far beyond memorising ones lines.

Alausa urged aspiring actors to resonate with the emotions they are portraying in order to move the audience along.

“Acting is not just about memorising lines; it’s about surrendering yourself to the moment, training both your emotions and your skills until they become one.

“To make an audience feel, you must first allow yourself to feel deeply. Every crying scene you see on screen takes discipline, vulnerability and countless hours of perfecting the art. This is why we say acting is lived, not faked,” she said.—Gistmania
