NOT EVERY SCOTLAND END UP AS CHAMPS

Sports Reporter

FANS of the Scotland team at the ICC Under-19 World Cup have spoken of their surprise to find another sporting team, with a name similar to their country, making headlines here.

The only difference is that the team is not spelt like the name of their country.

It’s called Scottland, with a double T and, like Rangers, who are chasing the signature of Tawanda Maswanhise, their primary colour is blue.

Scottland are champions of Zimbabwean football after winning the league in their debut season.

However, unlike them, the visiting Scotland will not be champions. Their quest to make the Super Six stage of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup ended yesterday when Pakistan and Zimbabwe both qualified for that stage of the tourney.

It was heart-breaking for the Scotts, who were favourites to go through, at the expense of the hosts.
