A 16-YEAR-OLD from Ntabazinduna has appeared in court after allegedly indecently assaulting his 10-year-old half-sister, while a friend held her down.

The minor, whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons, appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Taurai Manwere and was remanded in custody until 23 January. He was not asked to plead.

Prosecutor Owen Mugari told the court that the incident reportedly took place in December 2023 at Kayise Line, Ntabazinduna, when the accused allegedly forced his half-sister into a sexual act without her consent while another individual assisted in restraining her.

The complainant initially disclosed the incident to her sister in December 2023, and later, in February 2025, revealed the matter to her mother, who reported it to police.

The minor was medically examined, and a medical affidavit was produced as part of the court evidence.

The case remains ongoing as authorities continue investigations.
