The Second Edition of the Nyati Braai Festival is set to take place on May 2 at the picturesque Chinhoyi Caves, courtesy of Platinum FM and Zimparks.
The event promises a day of music, food, and fun, with performances by energetic artists like Simon Mutambi, Hulengende, Preacherman, Lady Banks, Bongri Fyah, Sung Dee, and more, alongside Platinum FM DJs and local disk jockeys like Jax Rider and Dj Mikela.
The festival will also feature traditional exhibitions, games, quad bike rides, game meat braai, and activities for kids. “All is set for a memorable day,” says Platinum FM’s Acting Sales and Marketing Representative, Caroline Chikomba.
“We invite stakeholders, the business community, families, and everyone in Mashonaland West to join us for this unique experience, which comes only once a year.
We will have food stalls, drinks, and merchandise on sale, so come prepared for a fun-filled day out.” said Chikomba.
Gospel artist Star Shumba (Sithandiwe Shumba) praises the event’s spirit of ubuntu, saying, “It’s about people from different backgrounds coming together to share delicious buffalo meat, which is not only tasty but also healthy, with low fat content. I am excited to participate in the event and see everyone enjoying themselves.”
Wildlife expert Privilege Mupungu from Zimparks, Chinhoyi, highlighted the benefits of buffalo meat, describing it as “soft, with a good and original taste of African game meat, packed with health benefits.”
He added that buffalo are “aggressive and a force to reckon with, especially when protecting their young.” while on The Daily Updates segment on Platinum Fm on Thursday last week.
A listener who called into the same program, claiming the buffalo is his totem, described the animal as “too aggressive, especially when attacked for no reason.”
Platinum Fm listeners are curious about this auspicious event saying that they will come in their numbers to support this noble cause mean to bring the community together.
Tickets are available at $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Organizers promise an improved experience, with more activities and entertainment.
