“HOME is where the music hits differently!”

Mzansi’s legendary DJ Oskido is making an emotional return to Bulawayo — and he’s coming back with a bang.
The seasoned wheel spinner, born Oscar Mdlongwa, is set to headline a massive Uhuru bash at a local joint on April 18, marking his first performance in the City of Kings in nearly five years.

Known for his timeless hit Tsa Matebele, the “grootman of the decks” is returning to a city that has long embraced his sound and legacy.

With Zimbabwe gearing up to celebrate 46 years of independence, with main celebrations set for Maphisa Growth Point in Matabeleland South, Oskido’s gig offers Bulawayo revellers a chance to celebrate Uhuru in style — through music and dance.

The event is expected to pull in a massive crowd, with fans eager to reconnect with the iconic DJ, whose influence on Southern Africa’s music scene spans decades.

Event organiser Mduduzi Mdlongwa said the timing of Oskido’s return couldn’t be more perfect.

“Oskido is coming home at the right time, when people are celebrating the gains of independence. He has been longing to perform in Bulawayo, and that moment has finally come,” he said.

“This is more than just a gig — it’s a celebration of our hard-earned independence, and also a celebration of Oskido, who has served the music industry with dignity.”

As Uhuru festivities take over the country, Bulawayo is set for its own slice of magic — powered by rhythm, nostalgia, and the unmistakable touch of Oskido on the decks.
