PADS & THREADS OF HOPE:Feminine Rosa warms Pumula Kids’ hearts

A HUMBLE community organisation has left Pumula buzzing with appreciation after stepping in where many look away. Feminine Rosa, a small NGO with a big heart, handed out clothes and sanitary pads to disadvantaged girls in the suburb on 25 October 2025.

The group did not forget the boys either. They too walked away with clothing to wear, a gesture that drew loud praise from residents who say help often comes with conditions and exclusions.

Speaking to B-Metro, Feminine Rosa member Siwatholile Mabhena said they are committed to fairness.

“In most NGOs, the boy child is easily side-lined and forgotten, but we, as Feminine Rosa, cater for all,” she said.
The organisation wants to make these donations every month. For now, resources are limited, so the programme is focused on Pumula, but the group hopes to spread into other western suburbs as funding grows.

Feminine Rosa started in December 2020, operating quietly while learning how to serve the community effectively. Their mission is to provide clothing, sanitary wear, shelter and medical materials to vulnerable children and to help them access education.

Pumula Councillor Lizzy Sibanda applauded the group’s effort, calling it a blessing in hard times.
“We live in difficult times and we really need such organisations to come through. A little can go a long way indeed,” said Sibanda.
