Parliamentary Committee mourns Bosso officials

The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture has expressed its condolences following the tragic deaths of members of the Highlanders Football Club technical and administrative team.

In a statement, the committee, chaired by Farai Jere, described the incident as a devastating blow to Zimbabwean sport and extended its sympathies to the club and the wider football community.

“This is a heavy loss to Zimbabwe sport, and the Committee stands with the Bosso family, relatives and friends of the departed during this most difficult time,” reads the statement.

“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences, pray that the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.”

The committee also wished those injured in the tragedy a speedy recovery, urging authorities to ensure they receive adequate medical care.

“To those still receiving medical treatment following this tragedy, the Committee wishes them a quick and full recovery, and calls upon the relevant authorities to ensure they receive the best possible care,” reads the statement.
