Renowned environmental and gospel artist Pax Gomo is set to release a collaborative EP with Vatinhiri VeDenga Choral Group, from the Methodist Church, today.
Titled Munguva Ino Neinouya, the four-track project is specifically crafted for the Easter season, focusing on both spiritual and environmental themes.
In an interview with H-Metro, Gomo said the EP is meant to unite people in worship during this sacred period.
“These songs are for Easter, and we decided to release them during this season so we can praise God together as we remember the Son of God and the great things He did for us, and I felt this was the right time to release this EP.
“The EP consists of four tracks, Baba Vedu, Tiri Vana Vemukuru, Kamunamato, and Matoro,” he said.
He also said, he contributed three songs while Vatinhiri VeDenga contributed the other one, including “Baba Vedu” their collaboration.
“The track Baba Vedu is more of a prayer, while Matoro is an environmental song that encourages people to preserve wetlands, which are crucial to the ecosystem,” he said.
“This EP is a mixture of worship songs and social conscious messages,” he said.
He also revealed that he pulled three tracks from his upcoming nine-track album to be part of this EP. However, he has decided to delay the release of his environmental album to focus on this gospel project.
“I decided to hold the release of my environmental album, but I am still committed to spreading awareness about environmental issues through my music,” he added.
The EP features two direct gospel songs, one environmental track, and another dedicated to praying for drivers to guide them during the holidays.
“One of the standout tracks is a rendition of the Lord’s Prayer, presented in a unique style featuring Vatinhiri VeDenga.
“With its blend of worship and advocacy, Munguva Ino Neinouya is going to be a spiritually uplifting and socially conscious musical offering,” he said.
The EP will be available on digital platforms upon release.
