PREM ace Rodri has fallen foul of his neighbours — who reported him to police for flying a drone outside the windows of their apartment

The Manchester City midfielder has angered tenants in a city centre high-rise next to his penthouse pad.

They allege his drone-flying hobby has invaded their privacy and left them fearing he has been able to see into their properties as they relax at home.

Police now plan to speak to the Spanish star, 29, to ensure he is aware of the law.

One resident who contacted The Sun said: “I live with my partner on a high floor and the last thing you expect to see when you’re watching telly is a drone a metre outside the window.

“My wife is very unnerved by it. One of the benefits of living so high up is that you’re not overlooked by anyone, but now we are being plagued by Rodri and his drone.”

Multiple residents of the building in Salford, Gtr Manchester, have asked their concierge to speak to staff who manage the block where Rodri lives.

Some have also contacted police over concerns he is breaching strict rules on where drones can fly and what they are allowed to film.

One, who lives with his girlfriend on the 34th floor, said they were watching television one evening when they saw a green flashing light outside their window.

The HGV driver told The Sun: “We have seen it flying outside our window and then flying back to Rodri’s penthouse patio.

“He has got all the money in the world and spends his time flying his drone into people’s windows.”

He said his girlfriend called 101 and complained about the nuisance and was told officers would be sent out.

Others complained on the building WhatsApp group, with one saying it contravened voyeurism and harassment laws, as well as flying regulations.

Some have posted pictures of Rodri on his balcony, looking up, with the drone controller in his hand.

The Civil Aviation Authority says drone pilots must respect privacy and not cause a nuisance. Pilots must take a theory test and register with the CAA before flying most drones.

Rodri, who dates medical student Laura Iglesias, was crowned world’s best player when he won the 2024 Ballon d’Or. He joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 in a £63million deal.

Greater Manchester Police said: “We have received a complaint and officers are making enquiries.” Manchester City were contacted for comment. – The Sun
