Preparations for the fourth edition of the prestigious Imiklomela KaDakamela, also known as Chief Dakamela Achievers Awards have already started, with the celebrations set to take place from April 3 to 6, at the chief’s homestead in Nkayi, Matabeleland North.

This year’s event coincides with the Easter weekend, to accommodate and allow people from different parts of the Zimbabwe and the African region to utilise on the dates, as many will be on holidays.
Imiklomela KaDakamela are designed to honour outstanding individuals and institutions for their contributions to society while they are still alive.
Disciplines that are mostly celebrated are music, arts, sports, entertainment, business, promotion of tradition and culture, as well as those who excel in community service.
Some of the individuals who have received awards are legendary poet Albert Nyathi, Professor Solwayo Ngwenya, Iyasa Director Innocent Dube, Hostorian Arnold Nkala, Chief Mathema, Chief Thulani Jubane, as well as philanthropist Virgie Ncube, amongst others.
