PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed Cdes Kiven Mutimbanyoka and Fred Moyo as deputy ministers.
In a statement last night, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya said the appointments were in line with Section 104 (2) of the Constitution.
Cde Mutimbanyoka was appointed Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, while Cde Moyo was named Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development.
“In terms of Section 104, subsection (2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed Mutimbanyoka Kiven, MP, Deputy Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and Moyo Fred, MP, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development,” he said. The appointments take effect immediately and are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Government leadership and enhance service delivery across key sectors of the economy.
Cde Moyo, a mining engineer by profession, was once Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development and has vast experience in mining. He has previously worked at Hwange Colliery Company Limited as managing director.
He takes over from Dr Polite Kambamura, who was elevated to Mines and Mining Development Minister recently following the removal of former Mines Minister Winston Chitando.
Cde Mutimbanyoka has vast experience in public administration as he was once acting mayor for Chitungwiza before contesting for a Parliamentary constituency seat.
In July 2018, Cde Mutimbanyoka was elected to Ward 13, Chitungwiza Municipality on a Zanu PF ticket.
