The President was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Professor Amon Murwira; Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Zambia and COMESA Charity Charamba; Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Kenya, Winpeg Moyo and Embassy staff.

The President’s attendance shows Zimbabwe’s commitment to deepening political and economic integration across Africa.

As the incoming chair of COMESA, Zimbabwe will host the next Summit and steer the bloc’s agenda from 2026 to 2027.

Zimbabwe’s expected assumption of the COMESA vice chairmanship demonstrates its growing leadership role in shaping Africa’s regional economic policies.

The Summit also provides a platform for President Mnangagwa to promote intra-African trade and to champion economic reforms that support inclusive development.

It also aims to leverage digitalisation to deepen regional value chains for sustainable and inclusive growth.
