President Mnangagwa has commended Ecobank for its continued investment in the country, saying this is a reflection of the bank’s confidence in Government’s economic policies.

The President said this today while officially opening the bank’s new head office in Borrowdale, Harare.

“Investments of this nature serve as reminders of our economy’s resilience and the conducive operating environment being facilitated by my administration.

“The fact that this head office of the Ecobank Group is the first one to be constructed and owned by the bank in Southern Africa reflects that Zimbabwe is a favourable destination for capital,” said President Mnangagwa.

“I wish to congratulate the Ecobank

Group for their resilience, visionary and unshakeable belief in the Pan-African story.

Well done,” said President Mnangagwa.

He also commended the bank for utilising local skills in the construction of the building.

“I applaud the Ecobank Group for having faith in the ability and skills of the

locals who steered this project. I commend the local architects, engineers, project managers and construction teams for delivering a splendid building which changes the landscape of this area,” he said.

The official opening coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Pan-African institution.
