President Mnangagwa is today expected to meet Heads of Mission from various countries and international organisations accredited to Zimbabwe, where he will deliver a belated New Year message.
The President, who is also the Chief Diplomat for Zimbabwe, will make his annual address to ambassadors accredited to Zimbabwe, during which he will provide an update on political, economic, and social developments in the country.
He will use today’s meeting to outline the country’s foreign policy, which is anchored on the principle that Zimbabwe is a friend to all and an enemy to none.
President Mnangagwa is also expected to explain several efforts his administration is undertaking to ensure economic growth in line with the country’s mantra that Zimbabwe is open for business.
An update on Zimbabwe’s bid for a United Nations Security Council seat for 2027 to 2028, with the campaign running under the theme “Advancing 21st Century Solutions for Global Peace and Security through Multilateralism”, is also expected.
