President Mnangagwa appoints Gen (Rtd) Sibanda to the Zanu PF Politburo

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed former Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander, General (Rtd) Philip Valerio Sibanda, to the Politburo with immediate effect.

Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, confirmed the development in an interview this afternoon.

“The Zanu PF First Secretary and President Mnangagwa, exercising his mandate in terms of Article 9, Section 65 as read with Section 67 of the Zanu PF Constitution, has appointed General (Rtd) Phillip Valerio Sibanda to the Politburo. This appointment is with immediate effect,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.

Gen (Rtd) Sibanda has served the nation in various capacities since 1974, a period spanning 51 years.

Throughout his career, General (Rtd) Sibanda demonstrated unwavering loyalty and patriotism, consistently serving with integrity and upholding values worthy of emulation by all ranks across the Defence Forces.
