President Mnangagwa has arrived at the iconic New Parliament building in Mount Hampden for the official handover of the magnificent infrastructure by the Chinese Government to the Zimbabwean Government.

This followed the completion of the imposing structure constructed to the tune of US$100 million as China cements and entrenches its bilateral relations with Harare.

Several dignitaries that include Cabinet Ministers, legislators, diplomats accredited to Zimbabwe, captains of Industry are also in attendance to witness the historical event.

The new Parliament has already been used in the official opening of Parliamentary sessions and delivery of the State of the Nation Address by President Mnangagwa.

The Head of State and Government is also accompanied by his two Vice Presidents, Cdes Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi.

Completion of the new Parliament building also heralds the birth of a new capital city as the Government plans to put up off site infrastructure such as residential areas, shopping centres, access roads to establish a self-contained new city to decongest the capital, Harare.
