President Mnangagwa has sworn in the new Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister, Senator Kudakwashe Tagwirei, at State House in Harare.

This follows the split of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion into two, with the Finance Ministry now standing on its own.

Zimbabwe’s macroeconomic stability has remained stable for a couple of years, supported by a low inflation rate and growth in various sectors of the economy.

Speaking after being sworn in, Minister Tagwirei said he is ready to deliver.

“In essence, my role is to look at the economic objectives of the National Development Strategy 2, the ten pillars of the National Development Strategy, and ensure that the economic side aligns to NDS2,” he said.
