PRESIDENT Mnangagwa is set to officially open Mine Entra 2026 in Bulawayo on Friday, underscoring Government’s commitment to strengthening Zimbabwe’s mining industry, a sector that remains the country’s largest export earner and a critical pillar of industrialisation, economic transformation and Vision 2030.
The President’s participation at Zimbabwe’s premier mining, engineering and transport exhibition comes as the country continues to pursue policies aimed at expanding mineral production, attracting investment, accelerating value addition and beneficiation to maximise returns from its vast mineral resources.
During a media briefing on Wednesday morning, ZITF Company Chief Executive Officer Dr Nicholas Ndebele said President Mnangagwa will be guest of honour.
“We are delighted to announce that His Excellency President Mnangagwa will he our guest of honour at this year’s exhibition.
“He will be accompanied by Vice President Dr Chiwenga,” said Dr Ndebele.
Chamber of Mines chief executive officer Dr Isaac Kwesu said most speakers on the programme have already confirmed their participation.
He said this year’s edition will improve linkages in the mining value chain.
According to the official programme, before the official opening ceremony, President Mnangagwa will receive a briefing on the exhibition before touring selected exhibition stands, where he will appreciate the latest mining technologies, engineering solutions and investment opportunities being showcased by local and international exhibitors.
He is expected to deliver the keynote address during the official opening ceremony, outlining Government’s policy direction for the mining sector and reaffirming its central role in driving economic growth, industrial development and increased beneficiation of the country’s mineral resources.
The President will also present the Mine Entra 2025 Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements, innovation and excellence across Zimbabwe’s mining industry.
Running under the theme, “Unearth, Transform, Prosper: Anchoring Economic Transformation through Mining Value Chains,” Mine Entra 2026 has attracted mining companies, investors, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, policymakers and technology providers from across the region.
The annual exhibition has become one of Zimbabwe’s key mining investment platforms, providing an avenue to showcase cutting-edge technologies, promote strategic partnerships, facilitate technology transfer and advance sustainable growth across the country’s mining value chain.
