Zimbabwe is ready to welcome investment that aligns with its national socio-economic and political interests, President Mnangagwa has said.
Addressing ambassadors accredited to Zimbabwe at the New Year’s reception at the HICC today, President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe will continue to welcome partnerships that support the country’s development, modernisation, and industrialisation journey.
“Zimbabwe is a global business,” he said.
“We stand ready to welcome investment and partnerships from across the world, which I believe are aligned with our national socio-economic and political interests. Ultimately, the benefits for all our peoples are central and guide our policies towards this cooperation.”
President Mnangagwa emphasised that Zimbabwe is fostering inclusive growth and development.
“Our shared aspirations for prosperity and peace bind us together as partners for progress and the realisation of the United Nations’ goals,” he remarked.
“Zimbabwe is a partner that can be counted upon to foster inclusive growth, strengthen governance, and ensure lasting peace, unity, security, and independence.”
President Mnangagwa also called for greater cooperation in the face of climate change-induced natural disasters that are prevalent across the Southern African region.
He urged collaboration in strategies that build resilience, especially at community level.
President Mnangagwa also thanked various countries for supporting Zimbabwe’s bid for a non-permanent UNSC seat for 2027/2028 and said the country stands ready to serve on the United Nations Security Council with dedication and commitment.
