Award-winning South African DJ Prince Kaybee has shared the deep pain of losing his mother, who passed away last week after a long illness. The musician, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, reflected on her final days in an emotional post on Tuesday.
He revealed that before her passing, she was scheduled for surgery that could have potentially changed her life.
“I just wanna discuss God, if he exists. My mother was one of the most faithful people I know. She prayed twice a day, sometimes overnight, and I could hear her cry in prayer through the night,” he wrote.
“But oh boy, she suffered. I saw in her eyes how excruciating the pain was. She went through financial exhaustion. People that love her, like me, also suffered looking at her go through all that. What kind of a sick God allows this if He is all powerful and all knowing?”
He continued, “I have lost the oldest person who loved me through all my flaws, the ONLY person in this world I could share anything with without being judged. But she is dead, and for some reason, there’s a God orchestrating all this. Today was supposed to be her first surgery consultation that could’ve changed her life, but God had other plans. MY MOTHER JUST WANTED TO RAISE MY KIDS, she felt that was the only thing left to do for me.”
Prince Kaybee received comforting messages from fans and followers.
On X (formerly Twitter), @kgotsohopelekau wrote words of encouragement, saying, “Death is such a weird concept & it’s always not easy to understand. As humans, its so easy to ask questions to God especially when one lived a faithful life. But I would love to share these with you bro. I am so inspired by your mother’s walk in faith as the words says that those who walked with God & have departed are safe as they shall rise up first on the big day.
He added, “God loves you bro & He would never do anything to hurt you. He comforts you in this season, and know that you have received an angel, who loved the Lord & sang of His Goodness Always.”
Another user, @unclesplanet, reminded him, “Never question God when faced with storms and triumphs. Your mother was strong, and she knew she had a mountain steeper to climb. Read Romans 8:28 and Matthew 28:20. Step out in faith, knowing the Creator of the stars has your back. This is a moment to step closer to God and understand His ways.”
