Prof Taruberekera participates at the Global AI Show

BUSINESSMAN and philanthropist Professor Kudakwashe Taruberekera has joined several speakers from across the world at the Global AI Show 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The summit, running under the theme “AI:2031 — Accelerating Intelligent Futures”, covers topics such as machine learning, quantum computing, and ethical AI.

It presented networking opportunities for participants with about 5,000+ AI futurists, 200+ experts, and 150+ sponsors.

Prof Taruberekera is accompanied by his wife, Mrs Yeukai Taruberekera, who is also a director at Craft Properties Private Limited.

Top speakers such as Maitha Alnuaimi presented on AI governance, while Dr Hyunijin Kim made a presentation on building AI-driven startups and Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti interrogated the importance of AI in crisis management.

With strong support from the UAE government, discussions centred on AI policy, innovation, and the emirates’ vision for a smart future.

The Abu Dhabi government has set up a US$500 billion Stargate Consortium that seeks to establish an AI-powered government by 2027.

“It is an invaluable opportunity to participate in insightful discussions and also having an opportunity to network with UAE Government officials,” said Prof Taruberekera.

Zimbabwe has identified AI as a key pillar in the realisation of the National Development Strategy (NDS1 and 2).

Prof Taruberekera previously participated at the Dubai AI Summit in 2023, which explored AI’s impact on industries and sustainability.

He also attended the Global Energy Show Dubai 2024, which focused on innovation in renewable energy and tech integration and the Dubai Future Forum 2024, where discussions centred on AI-driven transformations and smart city strategies.
