AIR Zimbabwe’s promotion season, on its Harare-London route, is over.

The national airline, which has restored normal operations on the route following last week’s disruption that resulted in the cancellation and rescheduling of a flight, has also adjusted its fares.

Air Zimbabwe said it remains steadfastly committed to building a safe, reliable, and efficient Harare-London service that meets the expectations of passengers and serves the country’s broader economic and strategic interests.

One-way tickets to London start from US$720 or £689, while return fares start from US$1,412 or £1,056.

The promotional fare started at US$495 one-way and US$900 return.

The national carrier confirmed yesterday that all flights are now operating according to schedule after Flight UM724, which was due to depart Harare for London on Friday night, was cancelled for operational reasons and rescheduled to the following day.

The flight eventually departed Harare on Saturday at around 9pm and arrived in London the following day at approximately 6am.

The return service left London later that morning and arrived in Harare the same day.

In a statement, Air Zimbabwe advised its “valued passengers and stakeholders that normal flight scheduling has been restored”.

“All Air Zimbabwe flights are operating as scheduled. Tonight’s (yesterday) departure to London will operate on schedule.

“Passengers travelling on Flight UM724 should proceed with their travel plans as planned and present themselves for check-in three hours before departure,” said the company.

Air Zimbabwe resumed direct flights between Harare and London Gatwick last month, restoring a route that had been suspended for 16 years.

The service operates three times a week using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) wet lease agreement with Spanish carrier Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.

The route is expected to boost tourism, trade and investment while improving travel convenience for Zimbabweans living in the United Kingdom.
