Rapper Moozlie (Nomuzi Mabena) has officially confirmed that her relationship with photographer and creative Jr Ecko has come to an end.
Speaking candidly on the “Tell Us Y” podcast, the rapper and media personality opened up about her current relationship status and made it very clear that she is fully embracing single life along with her spirituality.
“I’m so single. I’ve started reading my Bible like a story.
‘‘So single. Not talking to anybody, ” she joked during the interview.
While the pair worked together on creative projects, the couple went from Instagram collaboration posts to not being on each other’s feeds as a couple. Mabena has also mentioned that she unfollowed Ecko while he still follows her on the app.
The “Push i Dust” rapper and Ecko first soft-launched their romance in early 2024 when he joined her on a Mauritius getaway alongside friends and their partners.
From there, the relationship became public, with the two frequently sharing sweet moments online, attending events together and publicly celebrating milestones in their relationship.
In January 2025, the couple celebrated their one-year anniversary with heartfelt Instagram tributes. At the time, Moozlie described Ecko as “creative, cool, calm and kind”, while he called their relationship a blessing.
Now, more than a year later, the star says the relationship ended peacefully, with no bad blood between them.
“Our relationship ended on good terms,” she admitted.
She added that although breakups are never easy, she does not view the relationship as a failure.
“I don’t feel like I was fried. I think it was a cute moment for what it was. Life goes on. Life really does go on,” she said.
“Sometimes you meet people who come into your stratosphere to unlock a certain part of you and then they kind of move on.
‘‘I think it was that really crazy, cool, creative moment in the stratosphere of my life and his and the culture,” she added.
Before dating Ecko, Moozlie was in a long-term relationship and engagement with her former manager Sbuda Roc.
The pair were together for eight years before eventually parting ways, with Moozlie later opening up about her healing journey and learning to rediscover herself outside of the relationship.
It appears the rapper is once again entering a season focused on herself, faith and personal growth. — IOL
