RAPPER M.G Hkh says Shona music is not well represented on the global market.

Born Prince Peter Moyo, the rapper said he is preparing to make a big statement on the local and international music scene with the release of his latest single, “Sadza Rakashisha.”

The track, which will receive an exclusive international media premiere through V13 Media, will be released tomorrow.

The rapper said his unique blend of emotional storytelling and melodic trap music has earned him recognition as the pioneer of Soulful Shona-Trap, also known as Zim-Trap-Soul.

In an interview with Zimpapers, M.G Hkh said the song, which was produced in collaboration with CrashDummy, Sadza Rakashisha, will showcase the heartfelt lyricism and authentic Zimbabwean narratives that have become his trademark.

He said the details of the song remain closely guarded ahead of its release, but described it as a powerful reflection of everyday struggles, perseverance and aspiration. “I have always believed that our stories deserve to be told in our own language and from our own perspective. This song carries the realities many people face but it also celebrates the determination to keep pushing forward.”

Since officially entering the recording industry in 2019, M.G Hkh has steadily built a reputation for music that combines modern trap influences with deeply-rooted Shona expression.

His debut album, ‘Pray Hard’, released in 2020, introduced audiences to themes of faith, resilience and personal growth that continue to define his work. Drawing inspiration from international artists such as Rod Wave and Fridayy, M.G Hkh said he has developed a sound that resonates with listeners seeking both emotional depth and contemporary production.

M.G Hkh said his participation in Fridayy’s global Proud of Me Open Verse Challenge in 2025 expanded his profile beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.

M.G Hkh says he is balancing his artistic career with a profession in the automotive industry.

He is a qualified Class 3 Automobile Electrician and recently relocated to Masvingo to complete official trade testing demonstrating a commitment to both technical excellence and creative expression. The rapper has become an outspoken voice calling for greater transparency in royalty collection and distribution, while encouraging artists to embrace digital tools that can help them monitor airplay streaming performance and metadata management.

Operating independently, the artist has built a modern digital infrastructure through platforms such as Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists and Musixmatch Pro.
