South African gospel legends Rebecca Malope and Sipho Makhabane touched down at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare today ahead of a gospel concert – the Grateful Experience.

The concert is set for tomorrow at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

Malope and Makhabane were warmly welcomed by event organisers and local gospel enthusiasts at the airport.

The music icons said they are excited to be in Zimbabwe and said they expect a spiritually uplifting night.

“I’m so happy to be back in Zimbabwe,” said Dr Rebecca Malope. “This country has always felt like home to me, and I’m looking forward to worshipping with everyone at the HICC. It’s going to be powerful!”

Known as the “Queen of Gospel” in South Africa, Malope enjoys a loyal fan base in Zimbabwe, with her timeless classics still popular.

Makhabane, affectionately known as “Big Fish”, said he can’t wait to deliver a sizzling performance.

“We are here to praise, worship, and to celebrate God. I can’t wait to share the stage with incredible Zimbabwean talent. Tomorrow is going to be an unforgettable experience,” he said.

The Grateful Experience is expected to feature a strong line-up of both international and local gospel musicians, uniting voices in a night of thanksgiving, praise, and worship.

The event promises to be one of the biggest gospel shows of the year.
