ON Wednesday, award-winning poetess Tinashe Tafirenyika sent an SOS appealing for help after her car, a white Honda Fit was stolen.

The vehicle, which was last seen at her father’s home in the Gwabalanda suburb of Bulawayo, has since been recovered.

In an interview, Brian Moyo, the poetess’ brother, said he felt relieved that the vehicle had been safely recovered.

“I feel relieved to know that the vehicle has been recovered and from what I have heard, it was found at the Esphezini, around Esigodini and it’s now in police custody.

I would like to thank the Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) for reacting promptly to the plea for help.

The criminals then disconnected brake lights on the vehicle to avoid detection and also tempered with the ignition but besides that, the vehicle is alright,” said Moyo.

He also said the matter is in court and he is awaiting the verdict.

Inspector Nomalanga Msebele is yet to comment on the matter.
