Richslug: Inside the world of luxury cars, music and celebrity connections

A Lamborghini Urus at 22, international music connections and a growing business empire are some of the things putting Zimbabwean musician and entrepreneur Richslug in the spotlight.

But behind the luxury lifestyle is a young businessman who says he is determined to build a name that goes beyond expensive cars, social media attention and celebrity friendships.

Known in real life as Richard Mille, Richslug has been making waves through his association with international music stars, including J Hus, Fredo, Marnz Malone and Stefflon Don, while also maintaining links with Zimbabwean rapper Holy Ten.

Based in Dubai, the musician and music executive is positioning himself at the intersection of entertainment, business and international networking, with ambitions to expand his influence beyond the Zimbabwean market.

His Lamborghini Urus, acquired at the age of 22, has become one of the most talked-about symbols of his lifestyle, attracting admiration and scepticism in equal measure.

For Richslug, however, the luxury vehicle represents more than a social media statement.

“The Lamborghini Urus has always been my dream car. It was one of those cars I knew I wanted to own one day, even before I could imagine exactly when that day would come,” he said.

He added that achieving the milestone was a reminder of the importance of setting goals, remaining disciplined and pursuing opportunities.

“People will see the car, the pictures and the lifestyle on social media. What they might not see is the thinking, the decisions, the business activities and the discipline that go into building towards your goals.”

Beyond the flashy lifestyle, Richslug says he is interested in creating sustainable wealth through music, entrepreneurship and investments.

He co-founded Mille Prestige (Pty) Ltd with his uncle, a company involved in IT supply, logistics and general trade. He has also explored cryptocurrency as part of his wider interest in investment opportunities.

“I prefer to think of wealth as something you build rather than something you simply display,” he said, emphasising that his ambitions extend beyond the vehicles and lifestyle attracting public attention.

His business interests provide another dimension to a personality that is increasingly associated with music industry connections.

Living in Dubai has placed him in an international environment where entertainment, business and networking often intersect. He says some of his connections have developed through mutual contacts and artist management teams, while others began on social media.

British rapper Marnz Malone, for instance, reached out to him on Instagram about getting into the studio, according to Richslug.

He has also been seen alongside artistes such as J Hus, Fredo and Stefflon Don, although the extent of potential collaborations remains unclear.

For Richslug, the value of these relationships lies in what they could eventually produce rather than the photographs themselves.

“Anyone can take a picture with someone famous, but the real value lies in the conversations you have afterwards, the relationships you maintain and the opportunities you create together,” he said.

He hopes the connections will open doors to musical collaborations and business ventures, although he is keeping some plans under wraps until they are ready for announcement.

Closer to home, his relationship with Holy Ten has also attracted attention, particularly around the release of Risky Life 3.

The pair have known each other since 2022, and Richslug revealed that they met in South Africa ahead of the album’s release, where they spent time together, listened to the project before its official release and shot videos.

He gave the album a personal rating of 10 out of 10, praising the rapper’s distinct artistic identity.

Richslug said the pair were discussing major plans for 2027, although he declined to disclose further details. A musical collaboration remains a possibility.

Meanwhile, he is working on an EP that he hopes will introduce audiences to his own musical direction, with the possibility of featuring prominent names.

Music, he explained, has been part of his life from an early age, influenced in part by his father’s experience as a DJ. He later spent time around studios, artists and producers, developing an appreciation for the creative and commercial sides of the industry.

As an executive, he is equally interested in branding, marketing, talent development and the relationships that help music travel beyond borders.

“I want people to recognise the name Richslug not only because of my lifestyle or the people I associate with, but because of the music, the work and the vision behind it,” he said.
