AMERICAN rapper and record executive William Leonard Roberts II, popularly known as Rick Ross is set for businessman and Member of Parliament, Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya’s birthday bash on February 28.
This will be his second time coming to Zimbabwe after November 2022 when he performed at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) to a huge crowd, with local artists also performing.
With a few details on a Facebook post, Sakupwanya confirmed the news.
“Rick Ross will be flying to Zimbabwe for the second time. He will be coming on my birthday on 28 February. It’s going to be a big celebration. Will be updating you,” he said.
On his instagram page, Rick Ross said he will be in Zimbabwe to make history as he will celebrate together with Sakupwanya while making big moves.
“I’m celebrating for you. You better get ready.
“I am coming for my homeboy Scott. One time for the whole team. It’s the biggest boss.”
This first time he was here things seemingly fell apart when the scheduled line-up was totally ignored when the show started.
The likes of Kikky, Saintfloew, and Hillzy were sideliners performing on the red carpet as however intended.
The Rick Ross show by ROAR Entertainment received a fair share of negative and positive criticism pointing to the way it was organised.
For a show that Zimbabweans wanted as a chance for the local hip-hop industry, to prove their talent, it left a sour taste for most of them.
On social media, the news of Rick Ross was received with mixed reactions from fans. Rick Ross is considered one of the biggest heavyweight rappers in America.
He has worked with various big artists in the music industry including Mary J Blige, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill, DJ Khaled, French Montana and P Diddy to name a few.
Rick Ross is also the founder of Maybach Music record label imprint, which is home to well-known artists such as Wale, Meek Mill, Omarion French Montana and more.
In 2006 he released his first studio album, Port Of Miami, which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, featuring the singles, “Hustlin’” and “Push It.”
Since then, the rapper’s career has successfully grown and has seen him work with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
