SA-BASED ARTIST MAKING STEADY PROGRESS

SOUTH Africa-based Afrobeats sensation, Shawn “KSG Di Don” Konikere, is happy with where his musical journey has taken him so far.

He said his infectious energy has earned him opportunities and accolades that have set him on a path as one of the most exciting young talents in South Africa. KSG Di Don always wanted to be a versatile artist throughout his teenage years.

He has produced music for many artists, including Holy Ten and Qounfuzed.

KSG Di Don said his recent song, “Song Yako,” showcases his signature Afrobeats style.

In an interview, KSG Di Don said he wants to use his music to bring people together and celebrate the rich African heritage.

“As a musician, I have crafted emotive, thought-provoking songs that showcase my storytelling ability and passion.

“With a growing discography and energetic live performances, I believe that I am building a loyal fan base.

“Additionally, I have produced music for other artists like Qounfuzed, Holy Ten, bringing my unique sound and creative vision to the table.

“Whether in the studio, or on stage, I believe that I am a talented force to be reckoned with,” he said.

His manager, Leon Ibasa, said KSG Di Don has solidified his position as one of the most exciting Afrobeats artists to emerge from Zimbabwe and has made a mark in Cape Town.

“KSG Di Don has also been making a name for himself on the live music circuit, having completed two successful tours in recent months.

“In October and November 2024, he joined forces with Qounfuzed, Platinum Prince and Uncle Epatan for a tour that took them to Botswana, Musina and Johannesburg.

“KSG Di Don is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents to emerge from Zimbabwe and make a mark in Cape Town.

“Music fans can expect great things from this Afrobeats sensation in the years to come.

“He has continued to make waves on the local music scene with his unique blend of Afrobeats, infectious energy and captivating live performances.”

KSG Di Don’s musical roots run deep, having grown up in various areas around Zimbabwe, including Budiriro, Chipinge and Chitungwiza.

He attended Mufakose 1 High School and Chipinge High School, where his passion for music was nurtured. KSG Di Don’s musical journey gained momentum in 2014 when he met Tendai “Lyre” Vinyu, a producer from Chipinge.

He said working with Lyre had a profound impact on his career, inspiring him to pursue music production. KSG Di Don launched his singing and producing career in 2017.

Since then, he has released a string of singles and projects, including his Love Dust EP (2023), which features hits like “Karma” and “Handichadzoke,” featuring Crystal Rich.
