Scott Vincent eyes LIV Golf return

SCOTT Vincent’s season has come down to one final push. The Zimbabwean star is back on familiar ground, chasing another shot at the LIV Golf League, and he’s exactly where he needs to be. He leads the International Series Rankings heading into the last event — the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers — which tees off on Wednesday at Riyadh Golf Club.

Vincent enters the week with a clear advantage. He sits on 325,59 points, 40,29 ahead of Japan’s Yosuke Asaji, who is second on 285,30. Only two tickets into LIV Golf are available through the Series, and Vincent is firmly in control of one of them.

He isn’t overthinking it. Speaking to the Asian Tour ahead of this season-defining week, Vincent said he’s sticking to the routine that has carried him through the campaign.

“I never focus too much on leader boards. For me, it’s more important to concentrate on every single shot and make sure I give it my best. I practise this every day, and I try to stay in the moment during practice so I can do the same out on the golf course.

“Of course, there will be competition out there, but I can’t really worry too much about that. I just need to trust in my process and continue to improve every day and every time I stand over the golf ball.”

A strong finish this week would seal his return to the big league. Vincent previously spent two seasons with Iron Heads GC after winning the International Series race in 2022. The door is open for him again — and this time he arrives as the form man.

On another front, his consistency has also pushed him up the Asian Tour Order of Merit. After the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open, Vincent stands second on 1,793.96 points, chasing leader Kazuki Higa, who sits on 1 951.23.
