Scottland 1 – 0 MWOS
SCOTTLAND are now just one win away from completing what would be a fairytale Premier Soccer League title triumph.
The top flight debutants edged fellow newcomers MWOS 1-0 in a tense, high tempo encounter at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
Veteran forward Knowledge Musona struck the decisive goal in the 15th minute, calmly finishing off a clever pass from his younger brother Walter.
The victory lifted Scottland to 62 points, while Simba Bhora stayed on 56 after a 2-1 defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars. MWOS trail Simba by a single point.
That means Scottland now need just three more points from their remaining fixtures to all but secure the championship, thanks to their superior goal difference.
Simba Bhora can still reach 65 points if they win all their last three games, but Scottland’s consistency has left them firmly in control of their own destiny.
At Rufaro, the match carried the intensity of a derby. MWOS dominated early exchanges but were punished when Knowledge Musona pounced from close range after a neat move.
MWOS thought they had equalised just before the break, but Billy Veremu’s effort was ruled out for offside.
The result keeps Scottland on course to emulate Black Rhinos, who famously won the Super League title in their debut season back in 1984.
The Mabviravira still have games against Kwekwe United, Greenfuel, and TelOne, and just one more victory could etch their name into Zimbabwean football history.
