THREE Chitungwiza artists are set to unveil a gigantic statue which they say is their way of honouring businessman Wicknell Chivayo.
The philanthropist also hails from Chitungwiza.
The three sculptors who completed the giant statue are Callangan Makuni, Duncan Masanga and Americk Kumbiri.
In a statement, they said:
“Chivayo is a shining example of a true patriot and community champion.
“His selfless efforts have inspired countless talented young Zimbabweans in various areas including soccer, music telecommunications, and we are honoured to recognise his achievements.”
Masanga added:
“As Zimbabwe strives to achieve its vision 2030 goals, the unveiling of his statue is a testament to the power of community service and a reminder of the importance of giving back to society.
“More surprises are in store, as this is just the first phase of honouring heroes in the Second Republic’s socio-economic development trajectory, in line with Vision 2030.”
Chivayo, who is a prominent member of the Apostolic sect, also focuses heavily on faith-based giving and recently donated brand-new vehicles and cash worth over US$500,000 to the Johanne Masowe Chishanu Marondera branch, and gifting over 200 cars to various musicians, content creators, and social media influencers.
He has also donated a fleet of 10 Toyota Land Cruiser ambulances to the health sector and 75-seater buses to schools.
