Season break to give darts clubs chance to restrategise

Sports Reporter
BULAWAYO Darts Association (BDA) committee member Apinos Chiwara has said teams in the Bulawayo Metropolitan Darts League are battling to finish the first half of the season as strong as they possibly can to position themselves favourably when the second half resumes.

Chiwara said there were two games to go before the mid-season break.

“The pace of the league is determined by the way teams begin the first half of the season. Railstars and Archers have both been brilliant this season losing just one game each.

“Their players have been registering the highest scores every week. They look set to continue their domination but the season break will also give other clubs a chance to restrategise,” Chiwara said.

He said there would be provincial trials at the Bellevue Recreational Centre this weekend to select a provincial team that would compete in an inter-provincial competition at Kutama High School in August.

“As the defending champions of the inter-provincial tournament, we want to prepare our team in advance so that we match our combinations. Twenty-six players, 10 of them women, will be selected to represent Bulawayo.

Today’s Fixtures

Archers vs Parkview Lions, Bellevue vs Queens, Maison Nic vs How Mine, Parkview Kanka vs Khami, ZRP Bulawayo vs Supp Unit F/bridge, Zimbabwe School of Mines vs Railstars.
