SENSATIONAL FAMILY SPLIT LEAVES ZIM MAN STRANDED AND HOMELESS IN POLAND

A ZIMBABWEAN man is stranded in Poland, where he is homeless, after a spectacular fallout with his parents over differences related to their religious beliefs.

Tanaka Makwindi is the man at the centre of the explosive family feud, which has now left him cut off from his parents, and struggling as a homeless man in Poland.

His parents, Lucia and David Makwindi, are residents of Marondera.

David is a pastor and Lucia is a teacher at Peterhouse Boys College.

The couple has two children – Tanaka, who is 28 and completed his degree in Poland, and his sister.

Sources claim Tanaka fell out with his parents after he, among other things, refused to work for free at a bakery owned by their church.

In conversations with family members, H-Metro has established that Tanaka left Zimbabwe for Poland, following the disagreement with his parents.

Poland is the country where Tanaka completed his degree.

Sources said after his return to Poland, he told his parents that he would not return home.

Tanaka’s decision is said to have led to the collapse of the relationship between him and his parents.

A family member told H-Metro:

“He was disowned because he refused to work at the church’s bakery.

“This plunged him into a depression and now he is homeless in Poland, cut off from his family and support network.”

The family members also believe Tanaka has serious mental challenges and badly need specialist help.

“We’re doing our best to have him admitted at a psychiatric facility in Poland, to stabilise him, while we work on his paperwork,” the family member said.

“Given his condition, he has lost all his documents and we’re now in the process of obtaining a copy of his birth certificate to facilitate his return home.”

The situation is dire.

The family members claim that Tanaka’s parents have since left the family WhatsApp group.

They also claim the parents have blocked anyone trying to reach out to them.

“Our priority is to stabilise him and ensure he receives the care he needs,” the family member said.

Repeated efforts by H-Metro to reach out to the parents, for their side of the story, were not successful last night.

Text and audio messages were sent to them, requesting the couple to give its side of the story, but they refused to cooperate.
