MAYBE, we can call him a LUCKY CHARM.
Cephas “Big C” Maseva is synonymous with success – especially when it comes to winning the Castle Lager Premiership title.
He has been in charge of security at clubs which have won SIX league championships.
Now, he is on the verge of making it seven league titles should Scottland, as is largely expected, complete what looks like a victory lap and win the title this season.
He was at Simba Bhora last season and was in charge of the club’s security when they became the first team from Mashonaland Central to win the league championship.
He moved to Scottland, together with coach Tonderai Ndiraya and a number of key players – Tymone Machope, Walter Musona, Mtokozisi Msebe, Vasilli Kawe, Tichaona Chipunza and goalkeeper Talbert Shumba – at the beginning of the season.
Big C has built a good working relationship with Ndiraya and decided to follow him when he moved to Scottland.
Now, he is on the verge of celebrating another success story in the championship race.
Big C, who turns 51 this year, started his adventure as a DeMbare super fan.
He had become head of the Dynamos security team when the Glamour Boys won the league championship in 2007 under the guidance of the late David Mandigora.
That success story ended a 10-year wait for league honours for the country’s biggest and most successful football club.
Big C was also head of the Dynamos security when Kalisto Pasuwa guided them to four straight championships between 2011 and 2014.
Now, he stands on the threshold of being part of another team which is set to make history should Scottland complete the formalities and win the league championship.
