Severe storm hits Hunduza Primary School in Gutu, causing major damage to classrooms

A severe storm swept through Hunduza Primary School in Gutu on Monday evening causing significant damage to classrooms.

The storm started at approximately 6pm, with fierce winds that blew off roofing sheets from three classroom blocks.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. Parents and teachers rushed to the school to secure property and minimise the damage.

“It was frightening. The wind was very strong. We never expected such a storm this time of year,” said one teacher.

The teacher said it was fortunate that there were no students on the premises during the storm.

School authorities are appealing for urgent assistance to repair the damaged classrooms and ensure the safety of the students upon their return.
