‘She is my neighbour, she calls me a thief’

A HARARE woman is accusing her neighbour of calling her a witch and drilling holes on her precast wall.

Enia Hunda says she can’t take the insults of her neighbour, Sabina Hwasi, any more.

“This woman rules our street and she told other residents not to talk to me.

“In 2018, her cousin passed away and, on our way to the cemetery, she sang ‘Mbuya Hunda muroyi vakomana’ until other mourners reprimanded her.

“I don’t know what I did to her.

“She also drills holes on my precast wall for whatever reason.”

Sabina denied the accusations and told the court that she wasn’t on speaking terms with Enia.

“I do not talk to her and the main issue is that my children play in front of her gate and she tears their balls because she doesn’t want them to play there.

“I have never accused her of witchcraft or insulted her because I do not talk to her.

“Her precast wall is old and wears down on its own and I can show you the two holes she is talking about,” said Sabina.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Enia the peace order.

She ordered Sabina to stop insulting Enia, to stop interfering with her property and to stop drilling holes on her precast wall.
