NINE-YEAR-OLD Beverly Kuveya, who is currently competing in the World Model Kid pageant, says her passion for modelling was inspired by Yollanda Chimbarami.
Yollanda is known for her achievements on the global stage where she made history by earning titles such as Miss International Africa and Miss International 1st Runner-Up.
They are the highest placement ever achieved by a Zimbabwean model.
Though she has not yet competed beyond her school, Beverly actively participates in dramas and performances hosted at Sunningdale 2.
In an interview with Zimpapers, Beverly’s mother Amanda Mhondiwa said she hopes one day her daughter will become a paediatrician. Amanda said the Grade Four pupil at Sunningdale 2 is already capturing hearts with her creativity, determination and big dreams for her future.
“She’s hardworking and willing to learn new things. “When she grows up she wants to be a model and a paediatrician.
“She’s a young kind girl.”
Amanda said although Beverly is still in the early stages of discovering her full potential, the young girl is already showing signs of a promising future.
“Whether she is on stage performing or in the classroom learning, she approaches every opportunity with dedication and curiosity.
“Beverly is a very young and creative girl.
“Although she has never competed outside her school performances, she participates in a lot of dramas and shows hosted by the school.
“Beverly is still young and in the process of discovering her passion but I have noticed that she loves models and being on stage.
“She says Yollanda Chimbarami is her role model who has inspired her to pursue modelling.
“Yollanda has competed globally and she is a history maker and record holder in Zimbabwe, she attended the highest placement ever achieved in our modelling industry.”
