Bulawayo is about to experience a cultural feast as Soke Africa, a celebration of African music, food, fashion, and artistry, makes its debut in the City of Kings on Sunday at a local restaurant.

Known for creating spaces where African heritage takes centre stage, the event is curated by Untamed Authority and invites attendees to dress the part with African-inspired fashion. From vibrant prints to bold accessories, the day promises a visual showcase of creativity rooted in tradition.

This year, Soke Africa has already made stops in Cape Town and Johannesburg, with Harare and Windhoek next on the itinerary. After Bulawayo, the movement heads to the Zimbabwe German Society in Harare on September 6, before rounding off in Windhoek, Namibia, on November 1.

Organisers say the Bulawayo edition will blend sound, taste, and style in an experience designed to linger in the minds of those who attend.
“Bulawayo, you asked, and we heard you. We’re bringing a full cultural experience – from nostalgic African music and local artistry to mouth-watering food and bold fashion. The dress code is simple: a touch of Africa,” they shared in a statement.

Beyond the music and food, Soke Africa is about storytelling through art and connection. The event gives local creatives and artisans a platform to shine while encouraging people to rediscover the richness of African identity.

Started as a cultural series in South Africa, Soke has grown into a regional movement, uniting audiences across borders with one message: African heritage is worth celebrating.
