THE Government is holding a stakeholder validation workshop on developing a national policy for state enterprises and parastatals, which reviews and finalises reform strategies to improve the performance, transparency, and economic contribution of public entities.

Stakeholders are examining draft framework documents to ensure operational and strategic alignment with national development goals like Vision 2030 and also address corporate governance weaknesses, accountability gaps, and regulatory bottlenecks in state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

They are also gathering critical feedback from Government ministries, regulatory bodies, private sector associations, and development partners and assessing options for joint ventures, partial privatisation, or complete restructuring of non-performing entities, as well as enforcing adherence to national corporate governance codes and financial reporting standards.
