Highlanders FC players on Thursday morning refused to take part in training, demanding their outstanding signing-on fees from the club.

Club Chairman Kenneth Mhlophe confirmed the standoff, acknowledging that the players had indeed refused to train.
“Yes, the players did not train this morning as they are demanding their signing-on fees. We are engaging them and working to resolve the issue,” said the chairman.

In another development, the club also abandoned its traditional Thursday Match Day press conference ahead of their clash with Simba Bhora on Saturday.
