Submissions for the 24th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) are officially open, with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and its partners stepping up awareness campaigns to encourage participation from creatives across the country.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, NACZ spokesperson Nyabinde confirmed that submissions are being collected at NACZ offices nationwide.
“We are accepting entries from creatives for works produced between December 1, 2024, and November 30, 2025. Submissions can be made at any NACZ office across the country,” he said.
Nyabinde also announced that an online submission portal will be available soon, making it easier for artistes to enter. He revealed that the awards ceremony will be managed by the new event teams, Scarlet Studios and Events Evolution, who are preparing a glamorous and prestigious event.
He urged all creatives to submit their work for consideration.
“We encourage artistes to participate in this year’s awards. Anyone interested in being considered should submit their work for adjudication. We have launched an early awareness campaign to ensure maximum participation,” he said.
On the theme for the 24th Nama, Nyabinde said it was still being finalised.
“The theme will be announced once all arrangements have been completed,” he added. – Follow on X: @trustkhosa
