DENDERA music lovers in South Africa will this weekend have an opportunity to dance to the legendary sounds of Sulumani Chimbetu.

The affable crooner will be delivering the first tour to promote his new album ‘Tsapo’ in Jozi.

Known for his soulful voice, and electrifying performances, Sulu will hit the stage with his full live band, bringing the vibrant rhythms and heartfelt melodies of Dendera straight to Johannesburg and Pretoria.

It all starts in Johannesburg tomorrow night at the Newtown Music Factory (Bassline).

Sulu will be joined by urban grooves star Nox, whose powerful vocals and dynamic presence promise to take the fans on an unforgettable journey.

Fans can expect a brilliant fusion of traditional beats and contemporary flair, with special surprise guests adding even more magic to the line-up.

Nox is still revelling in the Best Artist in Diaspora award he scooped at the SA-Zimbabwe Business Expo in Sandon at the weekend, courtesy of Zimbabwe In Diaspora Organisation.

The Friday night show promises to be a full house as it also includes Plumtree-born Allen Ndoda and The Challengers. Ndoda is a household name in South Africa and has previously done collaborations with artists like Madalaboy, Mxolisi “Mr Bones” Ndlovu, Gift Amuli and Fortue Dawu.

Event organiser, PK Nkomo, has promised a night of fun.

“It is one of our biggest shows of the year and we look forward to hosting fans of all the genres on offer.

“We will also have the likes of Darlington Tanganyika and The Journey Band to provide a traditional feel to the event,” said Nkomo.

Tanganyika’s brand has been growing and has a number of albums under his belt.

Celebrated DJs—Inno B, Mr Gee and Selektah Hitch – will be on the decks.

Award-winning MC Rico Myers and Mapresa will hype the crowd on the night.

Lady Black Diva will also perform tomorrow, adding a feminine touch to the experience.

On Saturday Sulu takes his tour to Kempton Park at Amix Lounge.

He will be supported by DJs Warrior, TNice, Obvious, Shango Inno ZW and Itsoman.

Just a short drive away, Pretoria will be next to experience Sulu’s musical journey on Sunday at Propaganda.
