WITH more than five years of experience in the industry, Takunda “BMT150” Mandeya said he has established himself as a versatile and skilled master of ceremonies.

From hosting high-profile events like the Ecobank Legends Night and Zimbabwe Music Awards to emceeing weddings and corporate functions, BMT150 said he has proven his ability to adapt and thrive in various settings. In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, BMT150 said he has hosted more than 100 weddings.

“What drives me is the thrill of bringing people together and creating unforgettable experiences.

“With each event, I strive to innovate and improve by staying adaptable, learning from feedback, and incorporating fresh ideas to keep my hosting style engaging and dynamic.”

He said his ability to read the room and tailor his style to fit different audiences and occasions has set him apart as a host.

“I prioritise creating memorable experiences and building rapport with guests,” he said.

“Whether it’s a formal gala, or a lively music awards ceremony, I adjust my tone and energy to match the vibe of the event.”

In addition to his work as an emcee, BMT150 is also a radio presenter and producer on Capitalk 100.4FM.

He hosts ‘The Harare Drive’ and ‘The Pulse,’ a Friday lunch-time show.

When asked about how he balances his on-air personality and his hosting responsibilities, BMT150 said:

“I’ve learnt to be adaptable and flexible. On air, I focus on conversational storytelling and building a rapport with my listeners.

“When hosting events, I bring a more dynamic and energetic approach to engage the audience.

“I enjoy interviewing notable personalities on my shows because it allows me to learn about their stories and experiences and share them with my listeners.

“As an aspiring MC, I want to tell you that believing in yourself is key. Before I started hosting events, I declared myself ‘The Global MC.

“I started with big events and even before going on air, I had already made a name for myself on the big stages.

“Now, I am hosting thousands, working in radio and TV, and it’s a dream come true.”
