Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and television personality Tamar Braxton will headline the opening night of Ndlala Grandeur Season 1.
The four-night R&B showcase will take place from December 16 to 19, 2026, at Ndlala Arena.

Before establishing herself as a solo artist, Braxton was in a group with her sisters, The Braxtons.
Her second solo studio album, “Love and War”, was released by Epic Records in 2013, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, and earned three Grammy nominations, part of four Grammy nominations she has received over the course of her career.
“Ndlala Grandeur Season 1 promises to be one of the best events that will remain in people’s memories for a lifetime, and it is not to be missed,” said Thami Ndlala, CEO of Ndlala Arena.
“We have built this season to be the biggest celebration yet of the artistry, culture, and unforgettable nights that Ndlala Grandeur is known for.”
The announcement of “Love and War” hitmaker follows the recent news that actor Ricco Ross, known to global audiences as Horace Bellarie in Tyler Perry’s Netflix hit “Beauty in Black,” would be joining the event as red carpet and show co-host on December 16 and 17, marking his first visit to South Africa.
Ndlala Grandeur builds on previous editions
Ndlala Arena has increasingly positioned itself as a destination for large-scale entertainment events.
The venue’s biggest 2026 event so far was Ndlala Grandeur II, which expanded from the previous year’s two-night event into a three-day celebration of R&B.
The August edition featured international acts including Mýa, RL, Ginuwine, Case and Tyrese, alongside South African performers such as Zonke, Vusi Nova and Brian Themba. Several of the international artists were also honoured with stars on the Ndlala Walk of Fame.
The first Ndlala Grandeur, held in 2025, featured R&B singers Joe and Donell Jones, with Somizi hosting the event – IOL.
