TELONE say they are targeting silverware this season.
Club president Oscar Nduwere said they want to see progress from last season when they finished fifth in the championship.
“Stability and progression are our mantras,” said Nduwere.
“We are no longer just adding numbers to the league; we are here to challenge. The days of merely surviving are over.”
The club’s preparations has been multifaceted.
On the tactical front, coach Herbert Maruwa has instituted a rigorous pre-season focused on scientific conditioning and tactical discipline.
Simultaneously, Ascot has undergone significant touch-ups to meet PSL standards.
They have bolstered their squad with experienced signings by bringing in Innocent Muchaneka, Jerry Chipangura and Marvelous Chigumira, Tafadzwa Chikosi and Edmore Mawere.
“Our goal was a strategic blend,” Nduwere said.
“We have merged the fearless energy of our youthful core with seasoned PSL veterans.
“This mix is designed to give us greater control and grit, especially in the decisive final minutes of matches.”
True to the club’s developmental ethos, several academy stars have been promoted to the first-team setup.
Names like Calvin Chigara, Tapiwanashe Chivenge, and Simbarashe Takaedza are poised for their breakthroughs.
“Development is in our DNA,” said Nduwere.
“Our policy is ironclad, if you are good enough, you are old enough. The fans should expect fresh, hungry faces to make their mark this season.

Nduwere highlighted the crucial role of commercial partnerships with TelOne and the Nyaradzo Group, while actively seeking new Gweru-based and national sponsors.
“This is about sustainable community impact,” he said.
“By professionalising our operations and media presence, we create a valuable platform for our partners, which in turn secures the club’s long-term future.”
