THE boys are on FIRE!

And, the goals are coming from everywhere.

We have always insisted that Warriors coach Mario Marinica has a firepower that can propel the team to new heights of success.

And, the last few days, in particular, have showed us that the Romanian has a lethal frontline which can fire the Warriors and transform them into a very competitive side.

Man-of-the-moment Tawanda Maswanhise set the ball rolling with another goal for Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership.

The Warriors star, who was surprisingly not picked for the first XI in the Warriors’ first two group games, kept his place on pole in the race for the Scottish Premiership.

His latest goal was watched by Mario.

“I am happy with how Maswanhise is playing. He is always a fantastic player with a lot of focus,” he told the Daily Record of Scotland.

“I am on a seven-day tour of Europe where I intend to meet as many players as possible.

“I decided to start in Scotland, where I met Tawanda Maswanhise and we had a fruitful discussion.”

The coach appears to understand why there was an uproar back home when he was keeping Masvanhise on the bench at the AFCON finals while the Warriors were crying out for this special talent.

But, the past few days haven’t been about Maswanhise only.

Thando Ngwenya struck twice for Amazulu in their dramatic 3-2 win over TS Galaxy.

He was named man-of-the-match despite having been introduced from the bench in the second half.

He also provided an assist.

Ngwenya was left out of the AFCON squad amid reports that Mario was concerned about his fitness levels.

There is a feeling among some fans that Ngwenya represents the future of the Warriors attack, especially when it comes to the centre striking role.

It’s an area where the Warriors have been struggling to get a reliable out-an-out gunman.

Junior Zindoga, who was at the AFCON finals, scored a beauty in a losing cause for TS Galaxy in that match.

Prince Dube continued the impressive streak by Warriors forwards when he scored for Young Africans in their 3-1 win over Dodoma Jiji in a Tanzanian Premier League match.

It’s not usual that four different Warriors forwards are on target, in foreign leagues, within a period of four days.

This confirms that Mario has the firepower which can deliver him the goals – that is if he starts to believe in the quality that is at his disposal.
