GREETINGS, beloved in the name of Jesus Christ. Matthew 6:11 says, “Give us this day our daily bread.” From this scripture, we understand that each day is loaded with the potential for God’s provision.
Every new day offers a fresh opportunity for blessings to manifest in our lives. This also means that the day can carry either curses and misfortunes or blessings and good things, depending on the spiritual programming we set for it.
Therefore, the day can favour you or work against you. But God’s will, as revealed in the Scripture, is that we walk daily in His favour and blessings.
How many Christians are truly experiencing their daily bread from January to December? Sadly, many say, “Monday is a bad day,” which is not scriptural. In God’s economy, there are no bad days.
In Matthew 6:11, when Jesus teaches on prayer, He instructs us to ask for our daily bread — symbolising divine provision and supernatural intervention from God.
This implies that every day, you can request your provision and watch God come through for you — without waiting for a bonus, payday or salary increase. Your day can bring a miracle for you and your family.
The key is to learn how to take command of your day. Through prayer, ask God to grant you your daily bread — be it promotion, divine helpers or increase at work.
Psalm 19:2 states, “Day unto day uttereth speech and night unto night showeth knowledge.”
This means that each day has a voice and the ability to speak. But it only speaks what it hears. So, what is your day speaking to you daily?
For some, the day whispers calamity, disappointment, sickness or poverty — because principality and powers have commanded it to do so. However, according to the Scripture, you can also instruct your day on what to bring forth.
In Job 38:12, God asks, “Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days and caused the dayspring to know his place?”
This is a divine reminder that we have the authority to command our day to bring healing, destiny helpers or promotion.
If we fail to do so, witches and wizards might command the day for evil.
Many Christians complain about how the day is not working in their favour — about missed opportunities, failed interviews or broken deals.
This is often because they lack the discipline to rise early and command their day. Remember, the day begins at 12:00am.
It’s not about begging but about commanding and taking authority, since Psalm 8 affirms that God has given us dominion over the works of His hands.
In Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas, at midnight, commanded their day to bring a release from prison.
They prayed and sang praises to God, resulting in an earthquake that broke their shackles and opened the prison gates.
Why did they pray at midnight? Because they understood the spiritual significance of that hour — that it is a strategic time to seize the day.
The womb of the day is receptive during this time and whatever seed is sown then — be it of calamity or breakthrough — will determine the day’s outcome. Seeds of victory and miracles can be planted, resulting in divine breakthroughs.
When Paul and Silas demanded their release, they also presented their case before God, aligning with the divine purpose of the day.
Job 38:13 says, “That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it.” Despite wickedness surrounding the day, you have the authority to command it to shake out evil and bring forth righteousness.
Psalm 68:19 declares, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.” The day is loaded with benefits — waiting for us to ask and receive them. It’s up to us to claim these blessings and live victoriously every day.
Unfortunately, many Christians live their days by default rather than by divine design because they neglect midnight prayer.
Prayer is not exclusive to intercessors; it is for everyone. Luke 18:1 reminds us, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint.”
Let us rise early and take charge of our day by asking for our daily bread — so that each day can produce testimonies.
As you begin to command your day, I pray that your daily bread will locate you and manifest in your life.
Lastly, I invite you to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that He is your Lord and you shall be saved.
