PATIENCE Mangwiro’s ex-husband says he is the biological father of her young daughter in the latest twist to a tragic saga which has been raging on for over a week now.
Daniel Zavirima is even disgusted that his daughter has been dragged into the tragedy in which Patience’s new hubby, Martin Muduva, was axed to death last week.
Reports last week had suggested that Commissioner Muduva and Patience had a child together.
After Commissioner Muduva’s death, Patience shared his picture, holding a girl, and captioned it with a question, in which she asked, “tichasara nani?”
This has riled Zavirima because he is unhappy that the child has been dragged into the conversation related to the tragedy.
And, secondly, he says it creates the impression that the child is the daughter of the late Commissioner.
Given that he is still alive, he says he doesn’t understand why the Commissioner’s death should leave his daughter’s future in question, something he says was suggested by Patience’s photo and caption.
Zavirima, who was once married to Patience before their union collapsed, said Patience’s decision to drag their daughter into the tragedy, through her social media posts, was as DISGUSTING as it was DEPLORALE.
Speaking to H-Metro, Zavirima said coming across his daughter’s photo on social media was quite disturbing.
“I am very sure that I am the father of Patience Mangwiro’s daughter, the one she posted on social media in the arms of Commissioner Muduva,” Zavirima said.
“The post suggests that my daughter is Muduva’s child.
“If the daughter is not mine, then DNA tests will prove that.”
Zavirima said he married Patience in 2018 and the couple held a white wedding the following year in Masvingo.
The couple separated at the end of 2022.
He said their separation followed complicated issues which he claims were linked to infidelity.
“We have since cancelled the marriage certificate and I am now happily married to another woman,” he said.
Zavirima claimed Muduva was not the person who was behind the collapse of their marriage.
He said his marriage collapsed at the same time that he also lost his job.
Contacted for comment, Patience declined to respond to questions from H-Metro, citing workplace protocol.
Meanwile, the suicide note, believed to have been penned by Commissioner Muduva’s late first wife, Lyliosa Chirara, has not yet been handed over to the police, H-Metro has established.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said investigations were still going on.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is yet to see the suicide note reported to have been left by the deceased.
“Police are investigating the murder and sudden death by suicide cases in Dzivarasekwa Extension,” Comm Nyathi said.
Lyliosa, 43, a nurse based in Dzivarasekwa Extension, is alleged to have axed Muduva, a Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission Commissioner, before taking her own life. The suicide note was found during the packing of her belongings for burial.
According to traditional customs, her clothes and other items were placed in her grave.
She was laid to rest in Njanja, Hwedza.
During the packing process, some women found the suicide note and read it before some mourners gathered in Dzivarasekwa Extension.
One of Lyliosa’s close friends, Nancy Tembo, told H-Metro that the note was stashed among her clothes, together with other documents.
“We discovered the suicide note while packing her belongings in preparation to go to Njanja for burial.
“After informing the Muduva family about the note, they did not want it read, but the Chirara family read it.
“That caused more discord and we left the house in a huff as some Muduva family members had been angered by some members of Chirara’s family,” Tembo said.
Tembo added that none of the Muduva family members witnessed Patience’s burial.
A close relative, who asked not to be named, said the late couple even explored the possibility of divorce.
The source said Muduva has five children from three women.
“When Lyliosa got married to Muduva they were blessed with three children.
“The first-born represented other kids and I am not sure if her mother attended the burial.
“Their marriage started to shake with the coming in of Patience.
“There were threats,” the relative said.
