IT’S the Last Dance of the year for the all-women’s Doek and Slay parties.
It has been dubbed the Mega Show and will be held at the Glamis Arena on Sunday.
The show has traditionally been held at Alex Sports Club.
The event’s dress theme, which has been dubbed by the organisers as the “slay code,” encourages earthy brown tones paired with champagne, off-white and khaki, combined with statement pieces, fashionable head wraps and straw hats.
The organisers say the colour palette is meant to reflect natural African tones in a modern way, highlighting how fashion trends continue to blend cultural influences with urban style.
“The dress code is important, as it sets the tone for the event and encourages confidence in fashion choices,” the organisers said.
“The selected colours and artists represent the contemporary African woman, with Jah Prayzah bringing a contemporary traditional sound.”
Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah, Nisha Ts, Jah Signal, Baba Harare and the Intotal Band are expected to headline the entertainment line-up.
Asked what makes this edition different from earlier events in the year, the organisers said:
“It would be difficult to pick a favourite because the festival is a mega edition.
“We look forward to seeing the women enjoy the space and interact with the experience in their own way.”
